Suffering from a wardrobe malfunction is the stuff of nightmares. Especially, for an athlete participating in a competition under all media spotlights. A similar incident happened with French ice dancer Gabriella Papadakis who suffered from a shocking and rude wardrobe fail moment during 2018 Winter Olympics. The 22-year-old with her partner Guillaume Cizeron had just started her dance routine when her skimpy dress came undone leaving left nipple exposed on full display. However, the two-time world champion carried on with her performance in front of PyeongChang crowd. Having her full-breast exposed on live television left Gabriella Papadakis in tears but the immense love and support shown by her fans on the pictures and videos from PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games should definitely cheer her up!

Gabriella and Guillaume are no novice pair. They are the world champions and on Monday when they took on the turf for ice dance competition, the duo aimed for nothing but to emerge as the best. Howbeit, not always one gets what they have planned up for. And, wardrobe malfunctions are something, a person can never be prepared for in advance. French figure skater Gabriella who was wearing a risqué halter-top with tassels and spangles snapped when taking a turn with Guillaume.

Papadakis said she "felt it right away and prayed". But the malfunction had left her boob entirely exposed in front of the packed audience. Talking about the moment, she was quoted saying, “My worst nightmare at the Olympics. I told myself 'you have to keep going' and that's what we did, and we have to be proud of ourselves, delivering a great performance with that happening."

Gabriella Papadakis Gets Much Love and Support From her Fans

While Gabriella Papadakis had an unfortunate moment, what was the real disappointment was the manner in which the tournament cameras during the dance segment followed her to capture the ‘oops’ incident. It was a wardrobe malfunction and one could have let it pass it off as the same and not cash on it.

Canadian gymnast Kyle Shewfelt slammed the organizers in a tweet over their behaviour writing, "Ummmm, just saying, a director at the OBS (Olympic Broadcasting System) totally chose those slow-motion replays. That nip slip of Gabriella Papadakis at the end did not have to be included. How very disrespectful". Even Gabriella during a TV interview showed her displeasure by telling the reporter, “Thank you for not talking about the dress anymore.”

The uninvited clothing mishap might have been a dampened Gabriella Papadakis’ mood but her fans surely knew how to cheer their brave idol. Be it on Twitter or Instagram, fans came out in large numbers to show their support for the determined athlete.

A user with the handle harbinger_01 writes, “You were amazing! So strong and professional, I don't know how you did it. Be so proud of yourself of making it through, you are far from the first ice skater/dancer/performer that has had this happen. You are going to be the best at the free dance. And remember you are loved by EVERYONE and we can't wait to see you get gold!” while another with handle mellowdee123 Instagrammed, “You’re always the best! Still nailed it despite of the accident. Love you so much and you will win gold tomorrow!”
