Google marked the commencement of FIFA Women's World Cup 2019 with a lively doodle on Friday. The Google doodle portrays the teams which are participating in the grand football event that begins in France today. With the portrayal of diverse women football players, Google doodle captures the essence of the tournament. National teams of 24 countries will compete in the leading football tournament over the next month. The final match will take place on July 7 in France's capital city of Lyon. Four teams including Chile, Scotland, South Africa, and Jamaica will be making their debut in Women's World Cup debut in 2019. Jamaica is the first Caribbean team ever to qualify in the Women's World Cup. The first match will is between Franch and South Korea. As the game progresses, Google has planned a series of doodles by guests artists representing each of the competing countries. Each doodle will showcase how the World Cup is celebrated locally and what the game means to the guest artist personally.

Google also informed football fans that they can use Google Assistant to follow real-time match updates. The Google search app also lets one subscribe to team updates.
