Spain National Football Team’s star defender Dani Carvajal has been part of the Real Madrid team since the age of 10. The star spent just one year at Bayern Leverkusen before making his return to the Real Madrid side in 2013. Since then, Carvajal has been one of the prominent faces in the Real Madrid lineup and helped the side win multiple trophies. But right now, Real Madrid is facing a critical situation after the serious injury of Dani Carvajal, who was ruled out for the season following an injury during the team’s recent match against Villareal. Real Madrid Reveals Dani Carvajal Set to Undergo Surgery As He Has Suffered Multiple Injuries Including Anterior Cruciate Ligament Rupture, Announces His Contract Extension.

This absence leaves the champion team in a compromised position, as the right-back is one of the weakest areas in the squad. The side that is filled with offensive stars will look for some defensive back-ups and in response to this urgency, the club's sports management is already exploring the market in search of a reliable substitute for the veteran player.

1. Trent Alexander-Arnold:

Liverpool star who is known for his offensive and defensive capabilities is one of the top targets for Real Madrid. He was in the transfer talks earlier this season also with Carvajal crossing the 30-year mark. But Carlo Ancelotti’s side went against choosing the star Englishman right away and even-handed Carvajal an extension. Since Carvajal’s recent injury, Real Madrid will look to fast-track the process to acquire a player of Trent’s quality to fill in the gap.

2. Achraf Hakimi:

Another superstar name who could join the new Galactico would be Achraf Hakimi. The PSG man has already played with Kylian Mbappe and showcased his ability with the ball in recent international matches as well - leading the Moroccan side in the 2022 FIFA World Cup and African Cup of Nations. He was a Real Madrid player making him an ideal candidate for Dani Carvajal’s replacement. But price would be the issue for Hakimi as PSG is looking to keep Hakimi for a longer period utilizing his best years. Daphne Canizares Opens Up About Husband Dani Carvajal’s Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury, Says ‘It Still Feels Like a Bad Dream’.

3. Denzel Dumfries:

Another young candidate to replace Dani Carvajal is Denzel Dumfries. The Inter Milan star has been sensational in the Serie A this season and importantly Dumfries' contract ends at the end of the current season. As per reports, his renewal with the Italian club has stalled making him available in the winter transfer market. The 28-year-old Dutch defender is in his prime years and could be a quick-fix solution for Real Madrid.

Considering the Winter transfer window’s limitations and Carlo Ancelotti’s willingness to play with the available squad, Real Madrid might not rush for a transfer in January and use players like Lucas Vazquez, Militao, or even young Castilla product to cover up the right-back position for a while. But demanding fans will certainly weigh in if the ‘in-house replacement’ option won’t help the side to stay competitive in the league.
