Wayne Rooney recently made a move to Major Soccer League and yesterday, his splendid performance helped his team DC United win the game by 3-2. The two sides were up for a draw but, Wayne Rooney sprinted back to his own net taking the ball and passed a 50-yard long pass.

The ball was met by Luciano Acosta to score his third goal in the match. Argentinian striker Acosta's goal completed a hat-trick and gave United a vital three points as they attempt to move off the bottom of the Eastern Conference. Orlando was reduced to the side of 10 players.  The glorious assist was shared by the official page of DC United on Twitter.

It was strange, we went from losing to winning in five seconds," Rooney said after the match. "They're the best games of football to win. Of course, we should've done better against 10 men so it's something we can look to improve. To be honest, I saw it happen before we took the corner,” he added. "I normally go in the box for corners, that's why I stayed out because I tried to anticipate something like that happening. I've seen it before in football. You just run as quick as you can trying to get back. I was hoping he'd [Johnson] take a touch and he did," he said on a concluding note.

Rooney, England and Manchester United's all-time record goalscorer, confirmed his move to MLS in June after a season with Everton in the Premier League.
