Last year, Isco had celebrated his goal with a unique gesture which grabbed a lot of eyeballs too. It was later revealed that a fan had met him prior to the match and asked him to celebrate with a certain gesture (sign language) as her parents were deaf. Playing for Real Madrid then, the midfielder had obliged by celebrating with the ‘I love you’ hand sign language meant for specially-abled people.

The Spanish side won the match, though it was not a convincing win, given the firepower that the team possesses. The lone scored in the match wasn’t even a direct goal scored by Diego Costa, but a deflection of Iran defender’s shot which found the nets.

The evenly-poised match saw Spain emerge victorious in the night as they jumped to the joint-second position with Portugal, with only goal difference separating the two teams. The win would give a much-needed impetus to Spanish side for their campaign ahead in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
