A video has emerged showing the moments before Lokomotiv Moscow soccer player Aleksey Lomakin ‘froze to death’. The 18-year-old football player was reportedly found frozen to death in the Moscow district of Brateyevo on the morning of December 3. Lomakin and friend Ivan were out for drinking and as per some reports, the footballer died of hypothermia in temperatures of around -7 degree Celsius. A video footage now shows the teenager walking across a park covered with snow before he fell into the nearby river. Also in the video, an animal, probably a fox is seen dragging the dead teenager’s jacket, which was later found by the police some 100 feet away from the dead body.
“A man was walking his dog on the shore of Gorodnya River [in Moscow]. He came across a body. His lower part was lying in water and the upper was lying on the shore. There were no signs of a violent death, only small scratches on his face that he could have got when he fell,” A law enforcement source was quoted as saying by news.com.au. Meanwhile, as per other reports, Lomakin and his friend had an argument with a taxi driver and the duo was thrown out of the car. It is also reported, that Lomakin left his phone and backpack in the cab.
Lomakin was associated with FC Lokomotiv for 11 years now. In the ongoing season of the youth championship, the youngster had represented the club in three matches. The club took to Twitter and wrote, “FC Lokomotiv is saddened to report that Loko U21 player Alexey Lomakin has died in Moscow. The investigation is ongoing. We are shocked by the tragedy. FC Lokomotiv would like to express our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Alexey.”
