Ronaldo was involved in a tangle with a Valencia defender on 29 minutes, and German referee Felix Brych did not hesitate to send the Portuguese for an early shower. He was undoubtedly in tears as he left the field. Just before half-time Daniel Parejo's challenge on Cancelo earned him a yellow card and gave Pjanic the chance to send 10-man Juventus ahead.
