Continuing with its tradition of honouring the sports champions around the world, WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) have presented Real Madrid with a customised WWE Championship belt in honour of their three back to back Champions League title wins. Real Madrid earlier this year in May won Champions League for the third time after defeating Liverpool in the final and with that became the first ever club to be crowned the European Champions three years in a row. Interestingly, Real Madrid’s consecutive titles came under Zinedine Zidane’s mentorship. Three WWE Stars, Nikolai Volkoff, Brian Lawler and Brickhouse Brown, Die on the Same Day.

However, following the title win in May, Zidane stepped down as the head coach. Former Spanish footballer Julen Lopetegui was last month named as new coach of Real Madrid. The clubs previous two title wins came against Atletico Madrid and Juventus.

Meanwhile, WWE Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative Triple H tweeted a picture of the personalised Championship belt. He wrote, “After 3 consecutive @ChampionsLeague wins, it’s time for @realmadrid to celebrate like a @WWE Champion! #HalaMadrid.” WWE Monday Night RAW Matches' Results and Highlights: Brock Lesnar Returns, Assaults Paul Heyman and Kurt Angle.

Real Madrid after receiving the belt posted the picture of players Lucas Vazquez and Dani Carvajal posing with it. “@WWE Champions too… WWE Superstars, it'd be great if you could come to our game tomorrow!” tweeted Real Madrid.

The customised championship belt has side plates with the Real Madrid shield. WWE, in the past, have sent customised Championship belts to various sports teams like Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and also to winners of various sports leagues like NBA, NFL, and MLB). Football clubs like Boca Juniors, Chelsea, and Manchester City have also received the specially designed belt.
