According to The Sun, the £30million midfielder and his wife were attacked as they arrived at a luxury hotel in Cannes at the weekend. The incident happened outside the 5* Majestic Barriere hotel in Cannes at around 4am. According to the report, as soon as Bissouma came out of his car, two hooded men attacked him outside the Majestic Barriere hotel. The former Brighton star told police he tried to take refuge inside the five-star property, but its doors were locked. The attackers sprayed tear gas on him, snatched a $260,000 watch and then escaped in a car. Bissouma and his wife were spending their vacation in Cannes after an intense and grueling season but after the incident they decided to immediately return to England cutting their vacation short. They returned to England later on Sunday. The incident took place on the Promenade de la Croisette, up-market Cannes' swankiest street. French national police have opened an inquiry.
