The weekend saw action resumed in top leagues across Europe post the international break with plenty of high-intensity games. Jose Mourinho returned to topflight football with Tottenham Hotspurs, helping the Londoners win their first away game in 305 days. Liverpool and Manchester City continued to dig deep with impressive victories against tough opposition. Manchester United and Arsenal dropped points again. Barcelona and Real Madrid won in a convincing manner, and the La Liga title could go down to the wire.
