Liverpool dropped points for the first time this season as Jurgen Klopp failed to win at Old Trafford yet again. The draw saw Liverpool’s lead at the top cut down to six points with Manchester City winning against Crystal Palace. In the Spanish La Liga, Barcelona leapfrogged Real Madrid to the top of the points table as the Los Blancos lost against RCD Mallorca. Juventus and Inter Milan too won in Italy as the race to the top of the league hots up there. Plenty of important goals scored across Europe and here is our compilation of the top goals of the week. 1. Cristiano Ronaldo vs Bologna
A splendid trickery from the world’s best player Cristiano Ronaldo, helped Juventus open against Bologna. Defensive lapse from Bologna midfield led to Ronaldo receiving the ball on the edge of the box. His swift low drive crept inside the near post within a blink of an eye.
2. Marcus Rashford vs Liverpool
This goal came after the player received a lot of criticism in recent weeks. A dicey challenge from Victor Lindelof on Divock Origi set Daniel James free. The Welsh winger’s inch-perfect cross was met by Marcus Rashford who left Alisson Becker with no chance.
3. Marcos Alonso vs Newcastle United
Chelsea were playing well against Newcastle United but found it difficult to break the deadlock until Marcos Alonso's crisp low shot from the angle gave Chelsea the lead. The full-back is known for his left-footed shots and was the difference between the two teams in a cagey game.
4. Youri Tielemans vs Burnley
Belgium international Youri Tielemans scored the winning goal in the 74th minute of Leicester City’s win over Burnley. The Belgium international controlled a cross from out wide and let fly a side-foot shot into the top corner to set the home fans wild with ecstasy.
5. Gylfi Sigurdsson vs West Ham United
Iceland hero Gylfi Sigurðsson scored our goal of the week in Everton’s 2-0 win over West Ham United, which gave manager Marco Silva a much-needed breather after a string of poor performances. Coming on as a late substitute, Sigurðsson fired in a top corner bullet that sealed the victory for Everton.
