Spain vs Croatia UEFA Nations League 2018 Highlights: Spain Inflict Croatia to Their Worst Ever Defeat
World Cup 2018 finalists Croatia suffer embarrassing 6-0 defeat at the hands of Spain in their UEFA Nations League 2018 fixture.
Spain condemned World Cup finalists Croatia to their worst ever defeat in history with an emphatic 6-0 win in their UEFA Nations League 2018 match. Spain, fresh after defeating England at Wembley, were superb throughout the match with Marco Asensio netting his first international goal.
Saul Niguez scored team’s first goal in the 24th minute with a leaping header off Dani Carvajal's long diagonal ball that flew past Croatian goalkeeper Lovre Kalinic. Asensio scored Spain’s second with a spectacular left-footed strike from 25 yards in the 32nd minute. Two minutes later, the Real Madrid midfielder struck the crossbar and clipped Kalinic, settling in for an own-goal off the diving goalkeeper.
Rodrigo scored the third after a delicious pass from Asensio in the 49th minute. In the 57th minute, Spain Captain Sergio Ramos scored his 14th international goal with a fine header to score the fifth of the night with Isco rounding off an amazing performance with a right-footed shot from the centre of the box in the 70th minute to score team’s sixth.
The match was ex-Barcelona Manager Luis Enrique's first home game as Spain’s boss and his second win in as many matches since taking over the national team in July. Spain now has six points from six in their UEFA Nations League Campaign.
