In the last few weeks, nature has been extremely unkind to the citizens of Kerala. The floods resulted into the damage of more than Rs 20,000 crore in the state. About 400 people lost their lives and thousands of them have lost their homes. Several European football clubs expressed their solidarity to the victims of the disaster. Now Serie A giants AS Roma has also chipped in to do their bit and help the victims of the flood.

The club has now decided to auction the jerseys of the first-team players for raising money for the flood victims of Kerala. The club will auction five match-worn jerseys of the players their first home game of the season against Atlanta. The amount will be donated to Kerala Chief Minister's relief fund. The club made the announcement of the same on social media.

“After #ASRoma’s first home match of the Serie A season, the club will auction off five match-worn shirts from our first team players to help raise money to donate to the disaster fund to #RebuildKerala,” announced the club on Twitter.

The relief work is underway and celebrities like Irfan and Yusuf Pathan, Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan and many others have encouraged the people to do their bit and donate. The Pathan brothers sent out the necessary commodities to the volunteers in Kerala to be distributed.  Indian football star and Kerala Blasters’ CK Vineeth also chipped in by being the volunteer at one of the relief camps. Impressed by his gestures the netizens hailed him on social media and the pictures went viral. Indian Super League club  Bengaluru FC  had a donation drive to collect relief material for the flood victims of Kerala.
