Sergio Aguero Reportedly Set To Announce Retirement From Football in Press Conference on Wednesday

The Argentine moved to Camp Nou from Manchester City earlier in the summer transfer window but his return to Spain has not turned out the way he would have liked. Aguero is suffering from a condition called cardiac arrhythmia and was hospitalised after experiencing breathing problems during Barcelona's match with Alaves in La Liga.

Sergio is reportedly set to announce his retirement from football due to his heart problem. The Argentine was undergoing treatment for a problem of irregular heartbeat, also called cardiac arrhythmia after he was hospitalised back in October during Barcelona's La Liga match against Alaves. Barcelona on Tuesday, took to Twitter to announce that Aguero would be holding a press conference regarding his future.

Aguero had earlier refuted rumours of his retirement stating that he was under treatment. But with this announcement made by Barcelona, it has become increasingly likely that the 33-year old would call it a day from the game with a formal announcement on Wednesday. Aguero ended his Manchester City career in the summer and moved to Camp Nou. He could not make it to the starting XI right away this season owing to a calf injury. The Argentine has played five times for Barcelona and scored in the El Clasico, which his side lost 1-2.

Aguero has been one of the greatest strikers in Premier League history, inspiring Manchester City to five league titles and becoming their all-time highest goalscorer with 184 goals in 275 appearances. He did return to La Liga, having played for Atletico Madrid the last time before leaving Spain in 2011 but it did not turn out the way he would have wanted. Also, he won the Copa America trophy earlier this year with Argentina.
