Sandesh Jhingan has been away from the action for a while now after and is recuperating from an injury which happened during a friendly tie of the Indian Super League 2019-20. But that doesn’t keep him away from backing the Indian football team who played against Oman last night in Muscat for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. Needless to say that the defender was watching the game and slammed the Sri Lankan referee for a wrong decision. Sandesh Jhingan took to social media and went on the question the decision of the referee for not giving an offside. The Indians lost the game by 0-1. India vs Oman, 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers Result: Sunil Chettri and Boys Lose to Oman 1-0 in a Hard-Fought Match.
So here’s exactly what happened. Oman forward Muhsen Al-Ghassani clearly looked offside as Mohsin Johar gave him an important pass and the match referee gave a controversial goal which happened to be the deciding factor for the match. Jhingan posted a snap of the same and questioned how is that not an offside? This is not the first time that the Indians have been denied with an off-side goal. Way back in 2015 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, India was denied a goal against the same opponent.

This surprised the netizen as well and they slammed the referee as well. Check out a few tweets below:
Its off side I think. There is no VAR. Still Asian football association favouring some countries. Oman fouled Indian players many times. But blind Referee not seen that. If Indian players touches Oman players, then Referee have VAR eyes..shma

With this, India has been virtually knocked out of the tournament. The team will next play Qatar on March 26, 2020. They will also play Bangladesh on June 4th 2020. The Blue Tigers are now placed on number four of the table with three points in their kitty.
