Real Madrid have signed highly-rated Brazilian teenager Reinier Jesus from Flamengo for a reported fee of 35 million Euros. The 17-year-old follows the footsteps of Vinicius Jr who joined the Spanish giants from Flamengo in 2018 and has been a regular starter in the Los Blancos side. The record Spanish champions fended off competition from several La Liga sides such as Barcelona and Atletico Madrid to secure the signature of the Brazilian wonderkid. According to reports from Spanish news outlet Marca, Real Madrid have agreed to sign Reinier Jesus for a fee of 35 million Euros and will announce the player later this month. Both Flamengo and Madrid have decided to delay the announcement till after January 19, 2020, when the player turns 18. The teenager had signed a new deal with Flamengo in November 2019 which would have kept him at the club till 2024, but the Brazilian side could not refuse the lucrative offer from the record Spanish champions. Reinier made his senior debut for the club in July 2019 during their Copa Libertadores clash with Emelec before netting six times in the Brazilian domestic league to help Flamengo to the title. A decision is still to be made about whether the youngster will play in Brazil till the end of the season or if he will join Madrid’s reserve side for the remainder of the campaign.
