Sergio Ramos

Ramos was playing his first game against Madrid since returning to the Spanish league last month with Sevilla, his boyhood club. David Alaba scored an own-goal to put Sevilla ahead in the 74th, but Dani Carvajal equalized with a header four minutes later.

Ramos returned to Sevilla with the season already underway and Mendilibar left him on the bench for two of the four league games he was available for. Madrid leads the surprising second-placed Girona by two points, with Barcelona three points off the pace in third spot.

The 37-year-old Ramos returned to Sevilla, his boyhood club, this month after leaving Paris Saint-Germain. Barcelona's fans jeered Ramos early in the game because of his past stint with Madrid, where he played 45 “clasico” games against the Catalan club between 2005-21.

Sergio Ramos represented Sevilla at youth level (1996-2003), reserve team (2003-04) and then the main team (2004-05). He made 39 appearances for the senior side, scoring two goals. 

Saudi Arabia seems to have become a preferred destination for top players. Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema among other big names have secured their moves to clubs in the Saudi Pro League. Neymar recently joined the lost of players to have moved to Saudi Arabian football with his move to Al-Hilal.

According to the Olympique de Marseille website, "Olympique de Marseille today announced the signing of Ismaïla Sarr from Watford FC. The winger has signed for the club after passing his medical."

The Indian national team's coach, Igor Stimac, hopes to lead his squad to the same extraordinary heights as the Croatian national team attained in the previous two World Cups. The Croatian took to social media to share pictures with the Ballon d'Or winner.

The Parisians did not have the ending of a successful season as they would have wanted. Despite this shock defeat, PSG were crowned Ligue 1 champions, for the 11th time in their history,

I don't know how many places you can feel at home, but without a doubt, PSG, its fans and Paris have been one of them for me," Sergio Ramos wrote in his tweet. He had joined PSG in 2021.

Paris Saint-Germain returned back to winning ways after registering a 2-0 victory against Nice. Lionel Messi scored one goal and produced another assist for the Parisians.

The defender called time on his star-studded career for the national team for which he made a total of 180 appearances. He revealed being told by the current head coach that he will not be part of his plans for the national team. Ramos had missed out on a spot in Spain's FIFA World Cup 2022 squad.
