Manchester United’s surging 3-1 victory over Norwich City – that ended their seven-month wait for an away win in the Premier League – was somewhat spoiled by the news of another injury. United, who thrashed Norwich with goals from Scott McTominay, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, are set to miss Paul Pogba for at least another month revealed head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Pogba wasn’t even in the squad that travelled to Norwich and hasn’t played for United since 1-1 draw to Arsenal at the beginning of this month. And although United have really lacked in creating chances without the Frenchmen, they have looked a different team in the last two games, both of which they have won on road. Premier League 2019–20: Manchester United End 8-Month Long Away-Day Misery With 3-1 Win Over Norwich City.

Paul Pogba Training Hard

“I don’t think we’ll see him before December. He’ll be out for a while,” said Solskjaer post-United’s 3-1 victory. “He needs time to fully recover so I don’t think he will be back before maybe Sheffield United after the international break but probably December before you can see him.”

But despite mentioning that Pogba could possibly make a return against Sheffield United, Solskjaer was quick to clarify “It will be December before you can see him.” Asked to clarify, the Norwegian said “I’m not a doctor but there is an injury there that needs healing. There’s no use talking about who’s not going to be here for a long time because he’s not going to come on the pitch and help us. Paul’s been brilliant and he is the creative midfielder that we need but then it’s up to the others to step up.”

Meanwhile, after waiting for seven months and 14 matches for an away win, United now suddenly have two victories inside four days. They beat Partizan Belgrade 1-0 in the midweek Europa League clash putting an end to a run of 14 successive away games without a win. The 3-1 victory over Norwich City was also the Red Devils’ first away win since Solskjaer was made the permanent boss. It helped United jump eight places into the seventh rank in the Premier League 2019/20 points table.
