Tweets are pouring in with every passing minute. The club also added that it tried hard enough but could not convince Rafael Benítez to continue. "We have worked hard to extend Rafa’s contract over a significant period of time, however it has not been - and will not be - possible to reach an agreement with Rafa and his representatives," said the club in one of their statements.
Rafael Benítez Maudes is a Spanish professional football manager. He is also a former player. Benítez holds the distinction of being the only manager in the history to win the UEFA Europa League, UEFA Super Cup, UEFA Champions League, and the FIFA Club World Cup.
