Manchester City might have lost the Premier League 2019-20 to Liverpool this year but this does not stop the players of the team to shatter records. Here’s one record shattered by Raheem Sterling where he surpassed five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo. Sterling netted his 85th goal in the Premier League and thus surpassed CR7's all-time goal-scorer standings. Ronaldo has 84 goals in his kitty in the Premier League. He scored those goals during his stint at Manchester United. So Sterling went one above him. In the same game, he went on equal Mohamed Salah. Sterling now has 19 goals in this Premier League season to his credit and Liverpool striker also has the same number of goals. Sterling is one goal away from Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The current top scorer of the Premier League is Jamie Vardy who has 23 goals his credits. Sterling also shares sixth place on that list with Eden Hazard, who also netted 85 times. The goals were scored by Hazard during his time at Chelsea. Only five non-strikers have managed to score more than the City star. Sterling also overhauled his personal best record of 19 goals in one season which he scored in 2017-18 when they won the Premier League2017-18.
Talking about the match, Manchester City thrashed the hosts Watford by 0-4. Sterling scored a goal at the 31st minute and then nine minutes later. Phil Foden and Aymeric Laporte also found the net at 63rd and 66th-minute respectively.
