After the International break, the Indian Super League (ISL) is all set to resume. The ISL 2024-25 will see the Kolkata Giants Mohun Bagan Super Giant and East Bengal clash against each other on October 19 in Kolkata Derby. Mohun Bagan and East Bengal has been arch-rivals since the last century and belonging from the same city of Kolkata, they share a fierce rivalry. Mohun Bagan had a mixed start to the ISL 2024-25 season as they have won two matches in the league but lost one and drew one. While for East Bengal, they have lost all four matches they have played till now in the competition. Mohun Bagan merged with former ISL franchise ATK in 2020 and the merged entity registered in the ISL as the ATK Mohun Bagan. Both Mohun Bagan and East Bengal joined the ISL in 2020-21 season. While ATK Mohun Bagan won one ISL Cup and one ISL shield titles, East Bengal are yet to event qualify for the playoffs. They have won the Super Cup last season but EBFC are now determined to do well in the ISL too.
