He went on to beat Sadio Mane and Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The award ceremony was held in Senegal on Tuesday. Houston Dash and South Africa forward Thembi Kgatlana was named as the Women Player of the Year Award. He edged the same two players last year in a vote decided by the technical directors and head coaches of 56 CAF member associations. "I have dreamt of winning this award since I was a child and now I have done so twice in a row," Salah said soon after receiving his trophy in Dakar. "My thanks go to my family, my team-mates and my fans and I dedicate this trophy to my homeland, Egypt,” said Salah further. Mohamed Salah scored 44 goals during his tenure with Liverpool during 2017-18. He even went on to win the Puskas Award 2018 and the Premier League Golden Boot 2018 for his performance last year. So far this season Salah has netted 13 goals for Liverpool.
