Mohamed Salah Says He Never Said ‘It Is Fine’ to Sergio Ramos Following Champions League 2018 Final

Liverpool and Egypt forward Mohamed Salah has said that he never told Sergio Ramos things were "fine" as claimed by the latter. Salah and Ramos were involved in a tangle which left the Egyptian injured. Salah was then forced off in the first half during the Real Madrid vs Liverpool Champions League final. Subsequently, it was revealed that Salah has suffered a serious injury that put a doubt over his participation at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in doubt.
Following Salah’s injury, Ramos was criticised for intentionally inflicting the injury. Though Ramos later denied his role and said things were “blown out of all proportion" and the Real Madrid defender also claimed that after he exchanged messages with Salah, to which the Egyptian footballer replied, “everything was OK.”
Now Salah has cleared that he never said so. "He sent me a message, but I never told him it was 'fine,'" Salah told Spanish newspaper Marca besides labelling Ramos’ comments as “funny”.
Salah also reacted to Ramos’ statement that “the injured footballer could have played on if he'd had taken the pain-killer injections at halftime” by saying: “my comment is that it's always good when the one who made you cry at first, then makes you laugh. Maybe he could also tell me if I'm going to be ready for the World Cup?”
Meanwhile, Salah has also said that he is likely to miss Egypt's World Cup opening match against Uruguay on June 15. "When I fell to the ground, I had a mixture of physical pain and a lot of concern. There was also anger and sadness at being unable to continue playing in the Champions League final. Moments later, I also thought about the possibility of not playing in the World Cup and that was a devastating thought. It was the worst [moment of my career],” he said.
