Mauro Icardi has reportedly agreed to extend his contract at Inter Milan by one year, which will allow him to complete a loan move to Paris Saint-Germain from the Serie A club. The Argentine striker and his agent (wife) Wanda Nara were seen arriving at the French capital to put final touches to the loan deal on transfer deadline day. According to a report from Sky Sport Italia, Icardi has agreed to sign a one-year contract extension with Inter, which will be formalised once the forward has undergone his medical at Parc Des Princes. The deal is expected to go through on the wee hours of the European Transfer deadline day. Reports claimed that the 26-year-old will join the French champions on a season-long loan deal from Inter. Icardi, who has scored 124 goals in 219 appearances for the Nerazzurri, has been informed by new Inter boss Antonio Conte that he (Icardi) does not fit into his plans and is considered surplus at the club. Inter has tried to offload the controversial striker throughout the summer but without any success. He holds a contract till 2021 with Inter and has reportedly rejected many clubs that showed interest in taking him in the 2019/20 transfer window.

Meanwhile, Inter has already signed Romelu Lukaku from Manchester United for €67m with United misfit Alexis Sanchez joining him at San Siro. Lautaro Martinez is the other striker at Inter. PSG, on the other, were looking for a new striker after Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mabappe were injured during PSG’s Ligue 1 games. Both players will miss the first-leg against Real Madrid in the Champions League leaving Icardi at the first-choice at Parc des Princes.
