In a span of 10 days, the footballing world witnessed two absolutely jaw-dropping goals that left everyone in awe of the players. First up was Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo whose gravity-defying header against Sampdoria, and then came Marcus Rashford of Manchester United who also pulled off a similar goal against Newcastle United in Premier League clash. And like always, the football lovers have started drawing comparisons. Even Manchester United’s Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also compared Rashford with the Portugal star and called him a ‘physical specimen'. However, the England striker himself does not quite agree with the drawn comparisons and thinks that his skills are still work in progress. “Not quite @Cristiano jumping levels yet but working on it,” wrote the 22-year old forward on Twitter. Rashford’s brilliant goal came in the 41st minute of the Boxing Day match where he made a brilliant jump and executed the header to perfection. The goal reminded the spectators of Ronaldo’s header against Sampdoria where the Portugal striker jumped 8 feet 5inch in the air and registered a mesmerising goal which helped Juventus register a 2-1 triumph. Many would have expected that they are not going to witness something like that in a long time. However, Rashford splendid goal came just a few days later. Speaking of the Manchester United vs Newcastle United match, the former side dominated major part of the Boxing Day tie and never allowed the Newcastle to get an upper hand. Apart from Rashford’s sensational effort, Anthony Martial scored a couple of goals and put their side on the driver’s seat. Mason Greenwood also got amongst the goal-scoring charts and as a result, Manchester United registered a thumping victory. Man United finished with a sensational 4-1 victory over their rivals at the Old Trafford.
