Manchester United and Real Madrid came head to head for the pre-season friendly in Miami earlier this week. Here Man United’s David De Gea also met a few of his Spanish teammates. The exchanged pleasantries in the tunnel before the kickoff. Marco Asensio decided to take a dig at the goal-keeper and was heard shouting, “Karius, Karius,” at the goal-keeper.
From what we could understand, Asensio compared de Gea to Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius, who made a couple of major mistakes during the finals of the 2018 Champions League. As a result, Real Madrid walked away with the title. David De Gea also struggled hard during the 2018 FIFA World Cup as he was unable to save a goal when Spain played Portuguese. By the end of the mega event, De Gea just save one goal.
However, De Gea remained unperturbed with the trolls as he made way to the pitch as he hugged Asensio and the two were even seen hugging after the game. Check out the video of Asensio trolling De Gea.

The troll didn’t go down well with the fans of Liverpool and they said it was very disrespectful of Asensio. Check out a few tweets below:
“If @marcoasensio10 really did call De Gea "Karius" in training, that's really stupid, immature and unprofessional. There's a reason they are called professional footballers. Someone definitely has to set him straight,” read a tweet.

“Just lost respect for Asensio. You cannot make fun of a teammate's errors & the player your captain concussed. Imagine him missing a penalty in some final and then someone taunting him,” read another post.
