Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is in a deep trouble over the tax evasion case. However, as per El Mundo newspaper, the manager is unlikely to serve any jail time. Former Real Madrid player Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcelo and Fabio Coentrao had faced similar punishments. Mourinho committed a couple of crimes with regard to evading tax envisions. As per El Mundo, the sentence has been passed down following an agreement with the Tax Office and the case will now be closed.
However the first time offenders do not serve jail sentences of two years or less. As per the website Onefootball, Mourinho has agreed to pay a fine of €1.9m after he used offshore companies to conceal earnings totalling around €3.3m. Mr Mourinho received the concealed income through a company located in the British Virgin Islands, called Koper Services, SA, El Mundo wrote.
Jose Mourinho was in the news for storming out of the press conference after Manchester United lost to Tottenham Hotspur by 0-3. During the match, the supporters of Tottenham Hotspur displayed their nasty side by chanting, “Sacked in the morning' and 'You're not special anymore.” It was England captain Harry Kane who scored the first goal of the match at the 50th minute. Then it was Lucas Moura who scored a couple of goals one at 52nd and the other at 80th minute. In return, Manchester United could not do much apart from creating chances and missing them. The Portuguese held up his three fingers and asked the press, “Do you know what this means? 3-0. That also means three Premiership (titles) and I won more Premiership alone than the other 19 managers together. Three for me and two for them.” Mourinho repeated himself and said, “Respect, respect, respect,” as he stormed out of the press conference.
