Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has welcomed Jose Mourinho back into the Premier League after his appointment as the Tottenham Hotspur manager on Wednesday, following the sacking of Mauricio Pochettino. ‘Welcome back Jose’ Klopp announced during his press conference. 'Obviously it's nice to have him back. He was desperate [to come back], you could see that during the time when he was not in' the Liverpool boss added while welcoming Jose. The Reds manager was also quick to point out how quickly things can change in football as Pochettino was sacked four months into the season. 'But on the other side Mauricio [Pochettino] is not here anymore and that shows how quick things change nowadays.' Klopp added. The German feels that the former Spurs boss should enjoy his well-earned rest. 'About five months ago we played each other in the Champions League final and now he is on holiday. Liverpool were given a scare by Crystal Palace on Saturday but a late goal from Roberto Firmino was enough for the Merseyside team to earn three crucial points. Liverpool continue their march towards the first league title in 30 years with another win and maintain an eight-point lead at the top of the premier league table. The Reds will host Napoli on Wednesday in a Champions League fixture with hopes of securing the top spot in their group and advancing into the round of 16.
