Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus are the highest-paid sports team in the world according to the list released by the Global Sports Salaries Survey. They are the only three football teams in the top 10 as all the remaining slots are filled by teams from the NBA. Portland Trailblazers, Golden State Warriors and Miami Heat are some of the other teams in the list.
The 10th edition of the Global Sports Salaries Survey carried out by sportintelligence.com released a list of the highest-paid sports team across the world on Monday. Catalan giants FC Barcelona top the list followed by record Spanish champions Real Madrid and Italian heavyweight’s Juventus. According to the survey, the average earning of Barcelona in the calendar year is just above £9.8 million ($12.8 million) followed by Real Madrid in second place on £8.9 million ($11.51 dollars). The biggest surprise on this list are Juventus as they barely made it into the top 10 last year and were ranked 32 in 2017-18. Portland Trailblazers are fourth making a big jump from 14 while Step Curry’s Golden State Warriors slip down to the fifth position on the list. The biggest risers from the last year’s survey were Orlando Magic as they come in sixth place after being 28th the previous year. Oklahoma City Thunder fall down to the seventh position after being third last year while eight placed Denver Nuggets jumped 16 places this year.
