Lionel Messi has been breaking records one after another and is constantly pipping his arch-rival, Cristiano Ronaldo. Now, here’s another record where the Barcelona star went on to leave behind CR7 to achieve this record. Lionel Messi has pipped Ronaldo and register his place amongst the top 30 players of Europe as per CIES Football Observatory's InStat. Hakim Ziyech from Ajax is placed on number two with the index score of 373. Three Paris-Saint Germain stars occupy the third, fourth and fifth position on the list. Neymar is featured on number three with 367 index points. Kylian Mbappe is on the fourth spot of the list with 363 index points. Angel Di Maria stands at number five with 361 points. Timo Warner and Liverpool’s Sadio Mane are on sixth and seventh positions respectively. Kevin De Bruyne, Ciro Immobile and Riyad Mahrez make it to the Top 10. With this, players like Mohamed Salah, Andrew Robertson, Atalanta ace Papu Gomez (13th), Dimitri Payet and Willy Boly and others are obviously left behind.

Recently Lionel Messi pipped Cristiano Ronaldo to win the sixth Ballon de' Or of his career. Whereas, CR7 has won the honour for five times in his career.  Post winning Messi winning the award, CR7 was asked if the rivalry between him and Messi was over to which he said, "It's just begun."
