Since then he has been with the Herons and won the Leagues Cup in the first season with David Beckham-owned team. Messi's former club FC Barcelona will celebrate their 125th birth anniversary this year. Specifically, the club was formed on the 29th of November 1899, and on that date this year, there will be a celebratory gala to mark the special occasion. To make the event memorable, Barcelona is all set to invite a lot of their former legends. As reported by Sport, Lionel Messi will not be able to come to Barcelona for the celebrations, as he is scheduled to be playing for Inter Miami at that time. The MLS Cup playoffs are currently going on and the Herons are likely to face Orlando City or Charlotte FC on the weekend of Barcelona’s anniversary gala.  The development is disappointing for Barcelona as they would have definitely liked Messi to attend the event but the European football schedule and United States football schedule not being the same, Messi has to opt for only one. It is definitely considerable that Messi's absence will definitely diminish the brightness of the event.
