Barcelona yesterday got stunned by Ath Bilbao and lost the opening game of the La Liga 2019. All thanks to the late goal from Aritz Aduriz due to which the La Liga champions lost the game by 1-0. This is the first time in 11 years that Barcelona has lost the opening game of La Liga. The fans were annoyed with the team’ performance in the season opener and trolled the side for losing the game. In fact, the Barcelona talisman also missed out on one of the friendly games last month. The Barcelona side looked haphazard with the absence of Lionel Messi. Their new recruit Antoine Griezmann just lacked efficiency and sharpness. Luiz Saurez lasted for about 37 minutes but once again was not that good on the field. Needless to say that Barcelona had a bad outing without Lionel Messi in the team. Needless to say that the fans were quite upset with this performance and they trolled the side mercilessly.

After the game, Aritz Aduriz said, “Barcelona is the best team around and it's very difficult to last a whole game taking them on and matching them for space but we knew exactly how to manage our energy."  Way back in 208, they were beaten 1-0 by Numancia in Pep Guardiola's debut game in charge.
