It was Cavani who netted the first goal of the match and then Sergio Aguero netted an equaliser at the 63rd minute of the game. Luis Saurez from Uruguay gave a lead to the team scoring yet another goal and out the team on 2-1. But it was the Barcelona star who saved the team from losing the game and scored a late goal. But it was the fight between Cavani and Messi that dominated the headlines.

It is widely reported that Cavani asked Messi to fight to which the Barcelona star said, “Whenever you want.” Diego Godwin was the one who solved the dispute. Cavan later added, "On both sides, there are good things, we leave with a positive feeling and we try to play football, then it was already a classic, we live it like this."
