Match Preview

NorthEast United FC host Hyderabad FC in an Indian Super League (ISL) 2019-20 dead-rubber with both teams already out of the race for the semi-finals and only playing for pride this season. NorthEast United started their campaign on a high with two wins and as many draws in their opening four matches but since then both sides have endured similar campaigns with only defeats and draws.

Hyderabad FC have won once in 17 games, NorthEast United from a game less have two wins. They are on a 12-match winless streak with their last win coming against Hyderabad in November last year. Their opponents have seen worse and are on a 14-match winless streak. Their only win in ISL 6 have come against Kerala Blasters.

Hyderabad FC, who have one win, four draws and 12 defeats from 17 games, will finish their campaign in ISL 2019-20 at the bottom of the points table irrespective of the result in their final game. Javier Gurri Lopez’s side will, however, hope to finish the season with a win and avoid the record for the lowest points tally by an ISL team in a single season. Chennaiyin FC, who hit the table-spoon last season with only 9 points currently hold the record and Hyderabad FC might just beat it with a result anything other than a win. They were denied a victory by Sumeet Passi’s injury-time header in their previous game.

Probable line-ups:

NorthEast United FC: Subhasish Roy (GK), Mislav Komorski, Kai Heerings, Nim Dorjee, Reagan Singh, Lalengmawia, Milan Singh, Ninthoi, Federico Gallego, Andrew Keogh, Martin Chaves.

Hyderabad FC: Laxmikant Kattimani (GK), Sahil Panwar, Gurtej Singh, Souvik Chakrabarti, Adil Khan, Nestor Jesus Benitez, Marko Stankovic, Nikhil Poojary, Marcelo Pereira, Liston Colaco, Bobo.
