Kylian Mbappe 'Investigated for Rape' in Sweden, France Football Team and Real Madrid Star Refutes Report as 'Fake News'

The 25-year-old missed France football team's wins over Israel and Belgium with manager Didier Deschamps excluded him from the team to help him recover from injury. Kylian Mbappe has made the news, however this time being for reasons not related to football. The Real Madrid star came under the scanner after he sat out of France's victory over Israel in the UEFA Nations League 2024-25 due to a thigh injury and later, was spotted at a nightclub. Now, reports have emerged from Sweden that the forward is being investigated for rape. Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet reported of Mbappe visiting a nightclub with friends on October 10 while also mentioning the incident of an alleged rape. However, Kylian Mbappe was named the suspect of this rape case, which reportedly took place at the Stockholm City Centre, by a report from Expressen. However, the French star hit back hard against these allegations. In a post on 'X', Kylian Mbappe shared the report and termed it as 'Fake News'. These allegations were also denied by the France football star's entourage in a statement to the Agence-France Presse (AFP). France national football team head coach Didier Deschamps too shared his reactions to the report, stating that there is a 'negative atmosphere' in the French team. Les Bleus defeated Belgium 2-1 on October 15 to move to the second spot in UEFA Nations League 2024-25 A Group 2 behind Italy, who have a point more.
