The 16 teams in the main draw have been divided into four equal groups. After a single round of games within the group, the group winners will qualify for the semi-finals. The Kalinga Super 2024 final is scheduled to be played on January 28, 2024. The group stage, spanning from January 9 to January 22, will be followed by the semi-finals on January 24 and 25, leading up to the grand final on January 28. An added incentive for the Kalinga Cup winner is the chance to secure a place in the AFC 2024-25 season's ACL 2 Preliminary Stage. Odisha FC enters the competition as the defending champions.
Top ISL teams like Bengaluru FC, Chennaiyin FC, East Bengal FC, FC Goa, Hyderabad FC, Jamshedpur FC, Kerala Blasters FC, Mohun Bagan Super Giant, Mumbai City FC, NorthEast United FC, Punjab FC and Odisha FC are the 12 ISL teams that have directly qualified for the group stage.
