Kai Havertz has been one of the most talked-about football players in recent months and several European heavyweights such as Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are interested in acquiring the services of the Bayer Leverkusen star. The 21-year-old had a stellar 2019-20 season with the German side, playing a part in 26 goals in 43 appearances. This has led many pundits to believe that Havertz will be tempted to move away from Leverkusen in the upcoming season. Kai Havertz Transfer News Update: Bayer Leverkusen Reject Real Madrid’s Bid for Star Forward.

According to a recent report from German news outlet BILD, Kai Havertz is planning to submit a transfer request to Bayer Leverkusen later in the week. The 21-year-old football player will request the Bundesliga side to allow him to leave for Chelsea in the summer. The Blues are also interested in signing the forward and are currently in talks with the German club. Jan Oblak Transfer News Latest Update: Chelsea Told to Pay Slovenian Goalkeeper’s €120m Buy-Out Clause by Atletico Madrid.

It is understood that when Bayer Leverkusen return to training on Thursday (July 23, 2020), Kai Havertz wants to meet with the club’s hierarchy. In the meeting, the 21-year-old star will ask Leverkusen bosses to let him go to Chelsea for the upcoming season.

Bayer Leverkusen will let Havertz go if a proper transfer fee is presented for the player. The German club wants around €80/90 million for the youngster and it is on Chelsea if they are willing to pay that price. But if the 21-year-old pushes for the transfer, the Bundesliga side will be forced to let him go for a lower transfer fee.

If Chelsea manages to land Kai Havertz, the Leverkusen star will be their third ‘big-name’ signing for the upcoming season. The Blues have already secured the services of Moroccan Hakim Ziyech and German international Timo Werner.
