IND 1-1 VIE (FT) | India vs Vietnam, International Friendly 2024 Result and Highlights: Blue Tigers, Golden Star Warriors Play Out Draw

A draw it is with India and Vietnam sharing spoils at 1-1 each! Vietnam did well and attacked at the start but India ensured that they levelled the score in the second-half with Farukh Chaudhary impressing once again. The Blue Tigers have a double change with Liston Colaco and Vikram Partap Singh being introduced into the game with Brandon Fernandes and Lallianzuala Chhangte making their ways out. Meanwhile, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu pulls off a sensational save from close range! 

The Golden Star Warriors are seemingly under pressure after India's goal. The Blue Tigers seem to have the momentum at the moment with Vietnam not having the shape and the form they did in the first half. 

GOAL for India! And it is Farukh Choudhary who has restored parity! This is also the first time India scored under the Manolo Marquez era! The youngster pulls off a beautiful chipped finish over the Vietnam goalkeeper and it is game on! 

The second-half is underway with Blue Tigers looking to find a way back into this contest. Vietnam will continue to attack as they did in the first half and it will be interesting to see how things turn out here. 

It is half-time and India are on the back foot. Vietnam launched a barrage of attacks in the first half and deservedly found themselves ahead after Gurpreet Singh Sandhu lost control of the ball. India showed signs of being able to score but were not able to breach the Vietnamese defense. Will India fight back or is another defeat on the cards for Manolo Marquez and his men? 

GOAL for Vietnam! Gurpreet Singh Sandhu fails to clear the ball which trickles into the net. Nguyen Hoang Duc was there to assure that the Golden Star Warriors got the lead. The Blue Tigers are under a lot of pressure here. The goal resulted after a powerful shot from Bui Via Hao but Gurpreet Singh Sandhu lost his balance a bit and conceded the goal. 

Farukh Chaudhary's attempt from a tough angle has been saved by the Vietnamese goalkeeper. India would look to make the most of every opportunity and score the opening goal, which will give them a lot of confidence heading further into this contest. 

India has not had much of the possession so far in this contest and the speed of the Vietnamese players have been causing a bit of problems. After 20 minutes of play, we have no goals but there has been some drama already with India saving a penalty. India have fended off the Vietnamese attacks but would need to do much better. 

Vietnam has a penalty and Gurpreet Singh Sandhu prevents it from going into the net! The penalty was awarded to Vietnam after a challenge by Rahul Bheke by the edge of the box. But Vietnam cannot make the most of the opportunity with the shot being a bit tame and along the ground. That save will surely give India a lot of confidence.
