India defeated Pakistan convincingly, 3-1, in the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Cup semi-final match, on Wednesday. With the win, the Indian team has booked its place in the final of the 2018 SAFF Cup. It was Manvir Singh’s double strikes that led the Indian team past its arch-rivals at the Bangabandhu Stadium, in Dhaka.

The first half of the match was a goalless one, where neither of the sides could score a goal, despite several attempts. However, it was Manvir Singh who broke the deadlock in the 49th minute of the match and helped the Indian team take the lead in the second half of the game.

The second goal of the match was scored by Manvir too, 23 minutes after the first goal was scored. The third goal in the 83rd minute, by substitute Sumit Passi, dealt a body blow to the Pakistani team and it ended all hopes for a comeback.

The Pakistani team scored a late goal in the match, i.e. in the 88th minute. It was Hassan Bashir who scored a long-range shot and helped his side reduce the margin.
