India vs Korea, AFC U-16 Football Championship: Fans Give Huge Round of Applause as the Boys Shed Tears After Losing to Korea (See Pics & Video)

A while ago the Indian U-16 football team lost to Korea by 1-0 in the quarterfinals of the AFC U-16 Football Championship, Kuala Lumpur. The Indian side qualified into the quarters after 16 years of a long wait as Jeong Sang-Bin scored for South Korea on the 68^th minute. However, Niraj Kumar was the highlight of the match, making a number of saves in the game. After losing the team was quite disappointed with the loss and they were in tears. India vs Korea, AFC U-16 Football Championship: Korea Defeats India by 1-0.

However, the fans at the stadium gave a huge round of applause to the footballers. The official account of the Indian football team shared the video of the same on social media. The caption of the clip read, “India U-16 get a round of applause after they go down fighting the Korea Republic. #StarsOfTomorrow #BackTheBlue #WeAreIndia #IndianFootball.”

The boys were shattered after the loss and were in tears.

India’s Sunil Chhetri also backed the Indian team after the loss. He took to social media and wrote, “No shame in going down with a fight. I am proud of the way you boys played, the courage you displayed and for the hope, you have left us with. I am a fan and you boys motivate me as well. Chin up. #KORvIND.” India Beat Pakistan 4-0 in AFC U-16 Women's Championship Qualifiers Football. 

At the post-match conference, Indian coach Bibiano Fernandes said, “Really proud of my boys! We have shown that we are not in the #AFCU16 quarters by fluke. We tried our best to score. I'm happy with the team's performance.”
