A while ago the Indian U-16 football team lost to Korea by 1-0 in the quarterfinals of the AFC U-16 Football Championship, Kuala Lumpur. The Indian side qualified into the quarters after 16 years of a long wait as Jeong Sang-Bin scored for South Korea on the 68th minute. However, Niraj Kumar was the highlight of the match, making a number of saves in the game. After losing the team was quite disappointed with the loss and they were in tears. However, the fans at the stadium gave a huge round of applause to the footballers. The official account of the Indian football team shared the video of the same on social media. India’s Sunil Chhetri also backed the Indian team after the loss. He took to social media and wrote, “No shame in going down with a fight. I am proud of the way you boys played, the courage you displayed and for the hope, you have left us with. I am a fan and you boys motivate me as well. At the post-match conference, Indian coach Bibiano Fernandes said, “Really proud of my boys! We have shown that we are not in the #AFCU16 quarters by fluke. We tried our best to score. I'm happy with the team's performance.”
