The U-16 girl’s football team overcame all the challenges of the weather and have made India proud! It was said that the extreme weather condition could pose to be the biggest hurdle for the India team as they were preparing for their clash against Pakistan in the AFC Women’s Qualifiers. One on hand where the Indian cricket team is preparing to take on Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2018 in UAE, the U-16 girl’s football team beat the neighbours by 4-0.
The Indian girls had a flying start at the tournament as they defeated Hong Kong by 6-1 earlier in the tournament. It was Avika Singh who scored the first goal in the 22nd minute. The next one was an own goal by Pakistan. Sunita Munda and Shilky Devi scored goals for India at the 82nd and the 88th minute. Pakistan could not score a single goal throughout the game. With this, the Indian girls clinched three points and will next face the hosts Mongolia in the next couple of days. The team is placed in Group B of the table.
