The match took place at Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata. India's Adil Khan scored a goal in the 88th minute to level the final score against Bangladesh. Sunil Chhetri, who missed previous India’s game against Qatar, was back in India vs Bangladesh game. India lost to Oman in the opening game 1-2 in Guwahati. Before the clash against Bangladesh, India were placed on 4th place while Bangladesh were on the bottom-most spot in the points table. Bangladesh earlier lost to Afghanistan and Qatar in their first two matches. After IND vs BAN match ended in a draw, India maintained their 4th spot in the points table.
