The 26-year-old goalkeeper Jesse Joronen began his stint at the FC Copenhagen with a pain of losing a couple of teeth. In the 88th minute, Jesse collided with teammate Denis Vavro while looking to take control of the ball and in the process lost his two teeth. However, despite that Jesse continued to take part in the game against KuPS (Kuopion Palloseura), a Finnish football club.
"I lost a couple of teeth, but I'm going to the dentist and it will be fine. Just came to ball and obviously Dennis was doing his best as well and the attackers are in there so just had to get the ball away. And if a couple of teeth get lost that’s the price you have to pay," Jesse later told FCK TV.
The goalkeeper, who has previously represented Fulham, will visit the dentist and is confident of training ahead of FC Copenhagen’s next game. Meanwhile, Copenhagen’s second leg against KuPS finished with a 1-1 draw. Following the draw, Copenhagen will now have to play their second-round qualifying, first-leg tie, against Icelandic outfit Stjarnan on July 26. And the home leg on August 02.
