PSG (Paris Saint-Germain) goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma suffered various wounds on the face after AS Monaco defender Wilfried Singo fouled him during a Ligue 1 2024-25 contest. The video and pictures of the incident took the internet by storm. Gianluigi Donnarumma was taken off the field immediately after the incident. Donnarumma will undergo medical treatment and will not be seen in action for several days due to facial trauma. Wilfried Singo did not foul the goalkeeper intentionally as can be seen in the video. The incident occurred in the 17th minute when Donnarumma was struck in the face by the cleat of Wilfried Singo. Singo, whose shot had been blocked, attempted to leap over the sliding goalkeeper but inadvertently kicked him in the face. The impact left Donnarumma with a cut below his right eye and a bloodied face. Donnarumma remained on the ground while receiving medical attention. Following the match, PSG confirmed in a statement that Donnarumma had suffered facial trauma and multiple cuts. The statement read: “Gianluigi Donnarumma will return to Paris with the team this evening after suffering a facial trauma with multiple cuts. He will undergo medical examinations tomorrow and will have to rest for several days.”
