Cody Gakpo and Davy Klaassen came to Netherlands' rescue as they scored late to help the Dutchmen clinch a hard-fought win over Senegal in the Group A contest at the Al Khumama Stadium on Monday, November 21. The match seemed to be heading towards a goalless draw but Gakpo's late strike gave the Netherlands the lead. Klaassen added his goal in the injury time to not just double the lead but seal full points for the Netherlands on their return to the World Cup. Senegal would feel disheartened, as they too had good chances but failed to capitalise.
