Egyptian lawyer Bassem Wahba has filed a lawsuit worth 1 billion Euros against Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos for “intentionally” hurting Liverpool star Mohamed Salah. The two sides met last Sunday in the Champions League final with Real Madrid winning by 3-1. Salah, who scored 44 goals for Liverpool in his debut season, had to leave the field within 30 minutes of the game after Ramos’ tangle resulted in his dislocated shoulder. The injury now has left Salah doubtful for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2018.

The lawyer, who appeared on Egyptian national television, said he has launched a lawsuit against Ramos for the "physical and psychological harm" it has given the people of Egypt. "Ramos intentionally injured Mo Salah and should be punished about his actions," Wahba was quoted as saying by stuff.co.nz.

"I've filed a lawsuit and a complaint to FIFA. I'll ask for compensation, which could exceed €1billion, for the physical and psychological harm that Ramos gave Salah and the Egyptian people,” he added. Mohamed Salah Injury Update: Egypt Star Confident of Playing in the FIFA World Cup 2018.

Wahba is not the only one who feels Ramos intentionally hurt Salah. The Egyptian star's agent Ramy Abbas Issa in a series of tweets claimed that the Liverpool star was “robbed” of playing in the final. “I will not shy away from saying it would have been a different story had he remained on the field... without a shadow of a doubt,” he wrote in one of his tweets.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian Football Federation has announced that Salah will travel to Spain to undergo treatment on his shoulder injury. The footballer himself is “confident” of recovering on time for Egypt’s opening game against Uruguay on June 15.
