Cristiano Ronaldo for a few days now has been in the news for something more than his business. Apart from his goals and assists for Juventus, Ronaldo has also been in the news for being accused of raping an American woman in 2009. German magazine Der Spiegel published an article claiming that the rape happened in a hotel room in Las Vegas. Shortly after the incident, the woman had filed a report with Las Vegas police. Another report stated that the star footballer and the CR7 reached an out of court agreement with the woman, where she vowed to never speak about the incident. CR7 has now come out clean about the same and said that the news is fake. While speaking to his fans on Instagram Live, Ronaldo said, “No, no, no, no, no. What they said today? Fake, fake news. They want to promote [themselves by using] my name. It's normal. They want to be famous to say my name, but it is part of the job. I am a happy man and all good.” Watch the video below.
Ronaldo’s lawyers said that they will file a suit against the German magazine for publishing the news blatantly illegal" accusations by the American woman. The star footballer’s lawyer even said that the report was nothing but an inadmissible reporting of suspicions in the area of privacy. The lawyer further state that they would seek legal redress from the magazine.
