Cristiano Ronaldo Lawyer Denies Kathryn Mayorga's Accusations: No Rape, Sexual Encounter at Las Vegas Hotel in 2009 Was 'Completely Consensual'

Cristiano Ronaldo has spoken substantially about the ongoing rape-allegation issue against him, after a long time. After denying the accusations against him earlier, the star football player has now clarified that he did not rape the woman (Kathryn Mayorga) he met in Las Vegas in 2009, and their sexual encounter was ‘completely consensual’.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s lawyer Peter Christiansen said, “Ronaldo is forced to break his silence. Once again, for the avoidance of doubt, Cristiano Ronaldo's position has always been, and continues to be, that what happened in 2009 in Las Vegas was completely consensual,” in a statement released by Gestiftute – the company that manages the star footballer.

The 33-year-old had then said, “I firmly deny the accusations being issued against me. Rape is an abominable crime that goes against everything that I am and believe in.”

The Portuguese national’s lawyer further added, “Cristiano Ronaldo does not deny that he agreed to conclude an agreement. This agreement is by no means a confession of guilt. What happened was simply that Cristiano Ronaldo merely followed the advice of his advisers in order to put an end to the insulting accusations made against him in order to avoid attempts, such as those now witnessed, to destroy a reputation built thanks  to intense work, great athleticism and ethically impeccable behaviour.” Who Is Karima El Mahroug? Speaking on the recent controversies surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo, Christiansen said, “the documents that allegedly contain statements by Cristiano Ronaldo and were reproduced in the media are pure invention.”

Earlier, Kathryn Mayorga, a Las Vegas model had alleged Cristiano Ronaldo of rape in a hotel in 2009, and that she was bullied into signing a USD 375, 000 non-disclosure agreement in 2010. A can of worms has broken open since then, and there were media reports doing the rounds that three more women have claimed to have similar allegations against the five-time Ballon d'Or prize winner!
