If reports are to be believed, Juventus has sold around 520,000 Cristiano Ronaldo jerseys on the first day of its official release both in-store and online. The Portuguese football star was on Monday officials unveiled as a player by the club after completing his medical test. Interestingly, Juventus sold about 850,000 jerseys in the entire calendar year of 2016 and now are fast approaching that number with a significant part of the year remaining.

Meanwhile, each authentic shirt reportedly sells for €104 (CAD $159), while a replica is about €45 (CAD $69). Neymar's record-breaking move from Barcelona to PSG saw around 10 thousand jerseys being sold within the 24 hours. Not just the Jersey, there have been a significant increase in user engagement of social media pages of Juventus as well following Ronaldo’s transfer.

During his first press conference for Juventus, Ronaldo said the deal was a step forward. “I would not say it's a backward step, always is forward.
